Oppigårds Spring Ale
Oppigårds Spring Ale

A 330ml bottle, 4,6%, best before 2009 06, tasted at 2009 04 25.

Pores a white head, that laces nicely, and a golden amber body.

A fresh hoppy and citrus aroma arises from this brew.

The taste follows along the same lines fresh, hoppy, citrus and pine.

A refreshing session ale, not heavy, but with more enouth to make it worth while. 3.7 /5

Nils Oscar Barley Wine
Nils Oscar Barley Wine
Bottle 330 ml, best before 2014 03, tasted at 2008 01 13.

Light golden red coloured body, the white head dissipates quickly.

A sweet, fruity aroma.

The taste is also sweet and fruity, light bitterness, some alcohol but not disturbingly so. Overall the beer is light for it’s style.

It will be interesting to see(taste) what a couple of years will do to this beer.

Jämtlands HellJämtlands Hell

November 7, 2007 at Bishops arms in Gävle, 500 ml bottle.

Pours cloudy amber with a head that laces nicely.

Not much aroma at first, but it gets better increasingly more hops and straw.

Sweet malt to start of with the bitterness from the hops following up big time. Finishing with semi dry bitterness.

A nice beer, if only the other Swedish lagers could be this good.

Heaven

Jämtlands Heaven

A nice locking beer deep brown/red almost black colored body with a light brown head.

The nose pickup roasted malt and light hops, flowery.

Taste of malt, roasted and chocolate flavors, followed by herbal bitterness of the hops, and at the very end, lingering dry bitterness with hints of roasted coffee.

A bit aggressive, but, jet fairly well balanced.

A nice beer, to bad its no longer available at any of my local systembolaget shops, I think this beer deserves shelf space.

A solid 4

Närke rököl

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Närke RökölOn tap at Bishops arms in gävle, on November 28, 2007.

Pours deep mahogany colored body with a light brown creamy head.

The aroma is dominated by smoke, both smoked food and wood smoke with the former more noticeably.

The taste is for malt but above all else smoke both the food kind and the wood kind.

The finish is long, dry and smoky.

A solid rating of 4.

A nice beer, can’t wait to try the other beers from Närke.
